Thanking Our Veterans

Leadership Veterans DayWe sleep safely at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would harm us.

George Orwell

I hate war.

I do, however, believe there are things worth fighting for in this world. And I’m thankful for those who put their lives on the line everyday to protect us and our freedom.

Find a veteran today and say thanks. If you’re looking to get more involved, check out these organizations and join them in their effort to support our troops and their families:

What ideas do you have for thanking & supporting our soldiers and their families?

  1. I routinely have my friends who are school teachers have their students make thank you cards for our service personnel.

When I travel I take their cards with me and hand them out to the soldiers I see in the airport. It’s not much but if it helps them feel appreciated it’s the least I can do.

  2. I supported a veteran by buying something on the street from a vendor & telling him thanks for serving our country. did you know that almost all of the gents that sell purses, hats, gloves, scarfs, etc on the NYC streets are veterans?
i agree with you geoff. i hate war, but there certainly those out there serving our country, protecting us. we should always thank them.
