The Leap Challenge: Getting Started

Self Leadership

It’s February 1st, 2012 and finally time to kick off the Leap Challenge! You’ll be receiving your first task in just a few hours.

Before we launch into the challenge, I’d like to take a few moments to review aims and expectations.

The purpose of the Leap Challenge is to help you accelerate one of your biggest dreams. So many of us have dreams that we cling to, but have no idea where to find the time, resources or energy to bring them to fruition.

Enter the Leap Challenge. Each day of February you’ll be given a short task to complete. The general layout of the tasks will be as follows:

  • Week 1 – See: Refining your Dream & setting the course
  • Week 2 – Feel: Raising the stakes & gathering a team
  • Week 3 – Think: Plot a course & prepare for the unexpected
  • Week 4 – Act: Final preparation & tips for executing with discipline, agility & resolve

The task for each Sunday will encourage a specific form of rest—in order to build the habit of resting and recharging into your routines before the execution phase.

I only thing you’ll need to complete the tasks is a Leap Journal. Your Leap Journal could be a physical notebook or a document on your computer—whatever you feel comfortable with. You’ll just need a consistent place to complete certain tasks and record your thoughts.

One final note. Many of you are afraid that you don’t have a worthwhile dream. Others are anxious about starting something and failing once again. Still others are terrified of what would happen if you succeeded. My advice is that the fear you’re facing is exactly the kind of fear you need to move toward. Take the tasks one day at a time and see what happens.

It might just change your life…
