LeadershipThe moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here—it’s time to start developing a plan!

We’ll begin by brainstorming solutions for bridging the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

Leap Task #14: Devise a broad strategy for how you plan to achieve your dream

Here’s a suggested method for finding a strategy that works:

First, cast all constraints aside and ask yourself, “What’s the craziest idea that actually serves my purpose?” Then take the list of crazy ideas you generated and see what works—and what you like. Massage and edit them until they fit into your constraints (principles, time, money, energy, etc.).

Remember, the best strategy is usually simple and achieves your vision with the most effective use of resources.

Did your strategy come easily or did you have to struggle for it?

My strategy came pretty easy. I think I’ve been pondering it long enough to have it just sort of waiting there for me. Oddly, writing it down made it seem more manageable.

I’m still baffled by how powerful the simple act of writing something down can be.
